Welcome to the first in a running series of answers to common questions on binding supplies, bindery equipment and finishing operations. Joe Plummer, a Product Specialist at CFS will be posting about two of these per month. Take it away Joe:
Q: What is the difference between standard shrink wrap film and low temp, which one should I get?
A: The simplest answer is the temperature at which the film shrinks. Most jobs coming out of a print/copy shop would be fine getting wrapped with Standard Shrink Wrap Film and hit with a higher heat. You would want to use Low Temp Film for more sensitive packages which are more likely to distort or get damaged by heat such as CD’s, DVD’s or other items that must have a really tight wrap.
